This is where the sunsets explode in brilliant colour of Orange and Red against the mountains of the Vredefort Dome, which is a world heritage site.
We are situated in the Free State just outside Parys, nestled in the Vredefort Dome bordering 8km of Vaal River frontage.Therefore we own some of the most beautiful and breathtaking sites and sunsets!
We have the pleasure to share 2500 acres with 25 different mammal species.These include Rhino, Buffalo, Giraffe, Sable, Zebra, Kudu and many more… The list is endless.So you can come and join us for a scenic game drive.
The 8km of Vaal frontage that was mentioned is ideal forpaddling on the Vaal River, bird watching over 300 species and fishing of course.Bass, Carp or Yellow Line Fish could be the catch of the day.We also have hiking and biking trails all along the river for relaxing strolls or extreme sports!
And if you want to combine all these exciting activities you can book our venue for team building, conferences or leadership camps.2500 acres that you can convert in your own obstacles and adventure playground.

St Helena is our open air river chapel that is build on the banks of the Vaal River… the perfect spot to say your “I Do’s” while you gaze into your loved ones eyes as the river flows meters away from you.

•Savannah Game and River Resort Tented Camp has 6 Rustic en-suite Tented Chalets.Each en-suite bathroom has a shower, basin and toilet.Each tent has queen size beds, additional beds can be added for children.Our Tents are built on a solid base structure raised off the ground. This gives you great views of the African Bushveld and the Vredefort Dome.Each Tent has its own deck with comfortable chairs to lounge in that overlooks a watering hole.Additional features are Coffee and Tea Stations. In winter all the beds are equipped with hot blankets.Gas heaters can be added at an additional cost.
