Sand Forest Lodge

Sand Forest Lodge is situated on a nature reserve on the edge of an ancient sand forest and lies to the west of False Bay Park, part of the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park. Sand Forest Lodge offers a number of comfortable one and two-bedroom cottages, tastefully decorated in Afro-colonial style. The en-suite bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning, mosquito nets, ceiling fans and are serviced daily. Each cottage is equipped with a kitchenette with a fridge and private veranda with braai facilities. Guests can opt for the self-catering option or be treated to scrumptious meals and genuine country hospitality.

There is a restaurant on site for which all meals must be pre-arranged, and there is dinner seating for a minimum of eight people. The lodge offers a licensed bar and swimming pool for the use of guests only.

The Elephant Coast is one of South Africas most beautiful and unspoilt areas. Few areas in Africa have the incredible diversity of fresh water eco-systems found on the coast. There are major rivers, broad plains, large coastal lagoons, deep clear coastal lakes, extensive swamps and semi-permanent pans. Abundant game and bird species and a wild variety of flora. Sand Forest Lodge is just 10 minutes from the village of Hluhluwe and 20 minutes from the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve where Big Five can be seen. There is bird watching, both dam and sea fishing available, as well as activities and safari adventures on application.
