DESCRIPTION
Stonecutters is on a secure and scenic 60 hectare property with 2 dams, 3 kilometres of river, mountain and forest. There is a variety of accommodation, with a total of eleven en-suite rooms. There are two family houses, Trout House (3 bedrooms sleeps 6) and Stone Cottage (1 bedroom and lounge with sleeper-couch sleeps 4) and six Cobbles studios each suitable for 2 guests. STONE MANOR is the luxurious gathering point for guests at Stonecutters Lodge, with lounge/dining area, the pub and the conference boardroom. The front verandah overlooks a large natural pond with a bubbling waterfall where guests may enjoy breakfast or sundowners on the wooden deck jutting over the water.
THE COBBLES STUDIOS are deluxe self-catering suites. There are six en-suite (shower only) studios each sleeping two people. Built as three freestanding units with under tile and under carpet heating, each studio is a large open area with an en-suite shower only bathroom area, a kitchenette and a covered wooden deck. The interiors are stylishly furnished with king or twin beds and the decor has an African ambience. DStv is provided with a selection of channels. A gas braai/barbeque is built-in on the deck of each studio next to comfortable cane furniture.
THE TROUT HOUSE is a well-appointed double story stone house overlooking the two dams. There are three bedrooms, all en-suite, two of which have wheel-chair access. The Trout House offers accommodation for 7 people in total. Whether darkness finds you swapping fishing stories at the thatched lapa bonfire next to the dams, or sipping port indoors at the cozy fireplace, guests cannot fail to be enchanted with Trout House.
STONE COTTAGE is in a private setting on the hillside, a few minutes walk from the dams. This luxury semi-detached house sleeps four people (children are welcome) in 2 rooms with 2 bathrooms (a lounge with a pull out couch and a day-bed as well as a master bedroom). The impressive lounge/dining area has an open-plan kitchen, a high rafted ceiling and a fireplace and sleeps two on a pull-out sleeper couch and there is a day bed. This room is en-suite as there is a second bathroom off this lounge area (shower, no bath). In addition there is a large master bedroom (queen bedded) which is en-suite (bath, no shower). DSTV with a selection of channels is provided in the lounge. There are 2 covered patios with braai facilities and views over the mountains. (Firewood will be charged for at R25 per bag)
CONFERENCING: Stonecutters Lodge is ideal for exclusive management meetings, strategic planning sessions and team-building getaways. The boardroom is well equipped, including data projector for big screen projection of presentations, videos, DVDs and DStv. Up to 20 delegates can be seated in a variety of configurations and day conferences are catered for. There is a selection of varied team-building activities to choose from. With the excellent waters available at the lodge, a fly-fishing clinic with expert tuition can be arranged including a competition with prizes. With a total of eleven rooms available small conferences can take over the entire lodge and are assured of exclusivity as well as excellent accommodation, meals and service.
