Rooipoort Game Guest And Conference Farm
DESCRIPTION
Rooipoort Farm is situated in the Upper Karoo, Northern Cape, located 30 km east of the town Noupoort on the road between Colesberg and Middelburg.
Rooipoort is a game, guest and conference farm spanning 3 200 hectares. Existing buildings were stylishly transformed in accommodation, conference and entertainment facilities and an abattoir added. All the buildings were designed to create a unit and the farmhouse, swimming pool and enclosed lapa, with its own bar and kitchen, are picturesquely situated against a Karoo hill.
Rooipoort provides a getaway for the visitor yearning for fresh farm air and luxury accommodation at reasonable prices. Three four-bed private chalets and one six-bed private chalet provide luxury self-catering accommodation. Equipped with a telephone and a television, each chalet is also provided with a fireplace in the living room to warm up even the coldest Karoo winter night. Some of the chalets even have fireplaces in the bathrooms. Towels and soap are provided and chalets are serviced daily. Luxuriously decorated and furnished kitchens, dining rooms and living areas complete the picture of farm-fresh, luxury accommodation.
The conference facilities at Rooipoort, equipped with all the necessary audio-visual equipment and a television, can easily accommodate 50 delegates. The conference delegates can be catered for on request and a typical menu would start with an English breakfast, followed by a traditional South African lunch in the form of a snoek braai or potjiekos and rounded off with a sheep on the spit for a cosy winter dinner function.
Various bird species can be seen at Rooipoort. These include the Black Eagle, Martial Eagle, several hawks, Korhaan and Clapper Lark. Endangered species, such as the Blue Crane, Secretary Bird, Kori Bustard, Grey Heron and Egyptian Geese.
