Port Indigo Guest House

Port Indigo is a charming four bedroom house which serves bed and breakfast available on request and is situated on the beachfront in McDougall’s Bay is approximately 5km from the centre of Port Nolloth.The guest house has two separate kitchens and three full bathrooms. The main en-suite on the first level has a lounge, kitchen, inside braai facility and 2 additional single beds. The top level has 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms, and also 2 additional beds in the kitchen area. Both levels have 2 beds in the kitchen area to sleep a maximum of 10 people in the house.DSTV. Two braai facilities - one enclosed. Secure parking. The rooms have an en-suite shower and toilet and breakfast is served in Port Dump, a quaintly converted old building alongside the guesthouse. The beach is a mere step across the road from the guesthouse and ideal for walking or running routes.The sea is restricted in the vicinity by a large natural tidal pool so swimming is safe year-round.

Port Nolloth is as laidback as it sounds and holiday makers are attracted to the town to enjoy the atmosphere, and the sun. McDougalls Bay is home to clean beaches and offer hours of swimming, walking, kayaking and boating time; and you can fish for snoek or yellowtail if you have a permit. Port Nolloth and its neighboring informal settlement, Sizamile make a good stop off if you are at all interested in the Namaqua Flower Route, or a visit to the Richtersveld National Park. Walking tours around Sizamile are on offer by local guides; the local museum is filled with history, and a trip inland to the little town of Lekkersing, just north of Port Nolloth, offers a ‘look in’ to a community workgroup ‘rusoord’ where local craft in the form of ‘velskoene’, mats, huts, dresses and ‘riempie’ chairs is available.
